STRAZE

The STRAZE aims to be a special place for Greifswald and Western Pomerania. A free space, an experimental field, a playground where many things are possible for which there simply was no room before. Whether it's a lavish party in a historic ballroom, workshops on the most fascinating niche topics, theater, art house cinema, political education, chamber music, hands-on crafting in open workshops and repair cafés, the finest fair-trade coffee, advice, and support for a thousand other ideas – you'd have to be dreaming pretty wildly if you couldn't find what you were looking for here, or if you couldn't work with us to bring your plans to life. We want it all: to be the seedbed and driving force for a better, queerer, more social, fairer, more compassionate, more ecological, louder, friendlier future. And to offer Western Pomerania a stage for everything that has been missing in our region so far. We are a group of idealists, dreamers, and free spirits. Half the time we run around the house aimlessly, sharing our ideas with you and celebrating together. The rest of the time we sit around, wondering how autumn has suddenly arrived, and wrap up the year. With us, you can learn how to pull off a completely overambitious project like this. Be overwhelmed with us and realize: together, we can truly rock ANYTHING. The vast majority of us are volunteers because we want Greifswald to have this place. We organize ourselves into self-managed groups that cover various areas of work; major decisions are made at plenary meetings. Whatever you're interested in: working shifts behind the bar, organizing events, supporting the educational and workshop program, implementing and improving the infrastructure, removing barriers, getting involved in anti-discrimination work, in the open workshops, at the student festival, or in theater. We are your friends – you'll never be alone again.
